Internet infrastructure built by rural communities, local entrepreneurs and municipal authorities is an important means of achieving better and more affordable broadband access while helping to meet the needs of the 4 billion people who have been unable to obtain connectivity through traditional commercial access models. 

Disco-Tech, an exciting evening of lightning talks and demonstrations interspersed with dinner, music and drinks. The fourth annual Disco-tech event and party will highlight the work of six communities from around the world. It's hosted by APC, ISOC and IFEX.
